The Second Reading Debate began on September 12, 2017. Prior to Bill 148 receiving Royal Assent, it must go through a Third Reading. The proposals will substantially change the current minimum requirements in the province’s workplaces such as large increases to minimum wage, broader inclusion of all employees for certain leaves, the creation of new job protected leaves, and increases to the minimum amount of vacation time an employee is entitled to each year.
