The Ontario government is requesting public input to help strategize a plan to close the wage gap between men and women in the workforce.

Throughout the province the Gender Wage Gap Steering Committee will hold consultation sessions with diverse groups in order to:

  • examine how the gender wage gap affects women in their roles at work, in their families and in their communities
  • better understand and appreciate how the gender wage gap specifically affects women in the workforce
  • determine how government, business, other organizations and individual leaders can collaborate together to address the circumstances and barriers contributing to the gender wage gap
  • identify and address all the factors dealing with gender and how they relate to the wage gap
