Employment Standards Act, 2000 -- The minimum wage will remain at $14.00 - it will not increase to $15.00 on January 1, 2019.
On October 1, 2016 the Ontario government raised the general minimum wage from $11.25 per hour to $11.40 per hour.
Effective October 1, 2015 the Newfoundland and Labrador provincial government has increased the minimum wage by 25 cents to $10.50 per hour.
The province of Manitoba will increase its minimum wage from $10.70 per hour to $11.00 per hour, making it the fourth highest in Canada.
Effective October 1, the Alberta government will increase the minimum wage from $10.20 per hour to $11.20 per hour.
Effective October 1, 2015, the government of Saskatchewan will increase the minimum wage across the province from $10.20 per hour to $10.50 per hour.
Effective May 1, 2015, the general minimum wage rate in Quebec increased from $10.35 per hour to $10.55 per hour.
