From May 16 to July 15, 2016, the Ontario Ministry of Labour is conducting a safety blitz at workplaces throughout the province, focusing on hazards that could lead to a worker falling down.
Ministry inspectors are targeting workplaces in the construction, industrial and mining sectors to ensure that employers are properly assessing and addressing hazards that could cause workers to fall.
Falls, whether from heights or at the same level, can happen anywhere and at any time. A significant number of falls have led to worker injuries and deaths, especially in the construction industry. These injuries and fatalities are often preventable.
