As of June 1, 2014, the government of Prince Edward Island will increase the minimum wage from $10 to $10.20 per hour. Another increase will follow shortly after on October 1, when the minimum wage will increase to $10.35 per hour.
The new rates for Prince Edward Island were approved by the provincial cabinet, and are similar to those of the other Atlantic Provinces. Since 2007, the minimum wage has increased by 38 percent, up from $7.50 per hour.
