In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005, all Ontario businesses and organizations with 20 or more employees are required to complete the following four steps, the last having a deadline of December 31, 2014:

  1. Create a plan for providing accessible customer service;
  2. Train your staff who serve customers;
  3. Create a written copy of your plan for accessible customer service; and,
  4. File your Accessibility Compliance Report online by December 31, 2014.

Given that this deadline is fast approaching there is not much time remaining to ensure that Ontario businesses and organizations comply. For further information and to access the online report visit the Ministry of Economic Development, Employment & Infrastructure’s website.
