“I have spent a lot of my life standing in front of microphones telling rooms full of strangers why the next act is going to change their evening. Most of those rooms had a roof. My favourite one doesn’t. It’s a stretch of pavement called Main Street Unionville, and for two days every August it becomes the best jazz club in Ontario, even though nobody has to pay a cover.”
